Wills & Trusts
What is a Will? A will is a document that describes how your assets pass to people or entities at your death.
What is a Trust? In some ways, a trust is like a corporation. You can transfer property to a trust and when you die, the trust will still own the property unless you provide otherwise. There is no need to probate assets that are owned by the trust.
What happens to my property if I don't have a will or a trust? If you don’t have a will or trust, your property will pass to your heirs pursuant to the Michigan Estates and Protected Individuals Code.
